Teen accounts, safety and privacy

Simply Mindfull Moments has a small, quiet space for 13–17 year olds: breathing, grounding and gentle check-ins. It's set up by a parent or guardian, it has no feed or messaging, and it's built so a teen can be honest with themselves in private.

Who it's for

Ages 13 to 17, with a parent or legal guardian's consent. Simply Mindfull Moments is not for children under 13 — we don't knowingly create accounts for them, and if we learn an account belongs to a child under 13 we delete it. Adults aged 18+ use the standard app.

How setup works

  1. 1

A parent or guardian sets it up

From their own Simply Mindfull Moments account they confirm they're the parent or legal guardian, that the teen is 13–17, and consent to the teen calm tools. That consent is recorded with a date and version.

  2. 2

    They share a one-time code

The code works once and expires after 14 days. It can be cancelled before it's used, and no teen account can be linked without it.

  3. 3

    The teen accepts

The teen signs in, checks the code, sees exactly what their parent will and won't be able to view, and confirms before anything is linked.

  4. 4

    Either side can end it

The parent or the teen can unlink at any time from their account page. Once unlinked, no further activity totals are shared.

What a parent can see

  • • Number of calm tools completed in the last 30 days
  • • Approximate minutes spent on those tools
  • • When the teen last used the teen area

What nobody else can see

  • • Anything the teen writes or types — it stays on their device
  • • Which feeling words they chose
  • • Journal entries, notes to themselves, mood check-ins or emergency plan

Our teen data promises

  • • No advertising, no ad targeting, and no selling or sharing of teen data — ever.
  • • No profiling, recommendation scoring, or AI training on teen activity.
  • • The only thing recorded on our servers is which calm tool was opened and for how long. No content, no free text.
  • • No public posting, no direct messages, and no contact between teens and strangers.
  • • A parent or teen can request export or deletion at any time from privacy requests.

Ground rules we tell teens

  • • This is support, not treatment. It doesn't diagnose anything or replace a counsellor, doctor or therapist.
  • • Anything you type in a teen calm tool stays on your device. It isn't uploaded and no adult can read it.
  • • Your parent or guardian sees totals only — how many tools you used and for how long. Never your words.
  • • There's no public feed, no messaging and no strangers in the teen area.
  • • If you're in danger or thinking about hurting yourself, tell a trusted adult and use the crisis page right away.

Parents: open the parental dashboard to record consent, create a linking code, and set quiet hours, crisis resources, allowed tools and weekly summaries. Teens: try the calm tools first — you don't need an account to use them.
